Share a Haircut and Help Local Children in Need

Before you know it, kids will be headed back to school, and I am not sending my little gentleman to kindergarten sporting his current messy locks.  Anytime I get out the clippers and attempt to do the job myself, my children end up looking like this:

That is why I am heading to my local Hair Cuttery to get an affordable, big kid look for my new school-ager and am happy to particpate in the Share a Haircut Program.

The Share a Haircut program gives a free haircut to a local child in need for every kid’s haircut given at one of thesalons between August 1-15, 2012.

The program directly benefits children in our area.  Here are some facts:

  • Last year,  more than 9,600 haircuts to were donated children in need in the DC/NOVA metro area
  • The haircuts are donated to children in need through partnerships with local non-profit agencies such as FACETS, Tahirih Justice Center, and the Arlington County & Alexandria Depts of Human Services, to name a few.
  • This year, you can also donate a haircut online: visit the Share-A-Haircut Facebook app (http://tinyurl.com/c7gj5dp) from July 18 – Aug. 15 & Hair Cuttery will donate a haircut to a child in need.

Disclosure:  I was provided a $10 gift certificate for Hair Cuttery for my participation in promoting this cause.  I will use the gift card to get a haircut for my son.
